BEST MATCHES OF THE SEASON SO FAR

 

1.Chelsea 4- Manchester City 4- arguably the game of the season, Chelsea game against Man City back in the early stages of the Season is a classic for all the right reasons. Defensive lapses, fast paced action, and of course, plenty of goals. Man City drew first blood thanks to a debatable Erling Haaland penalty but they were pegged back by Chelsea who quickly scored two goals through Thiago Silva and Raheem Sterling but Man City equalized on the stroke of half time from an Akanji header. Man City soon scored after the restart from Erling Haaland and retook the lead but Chelsea came fighting back and after Cole Palmer missed a solo chance, they soon scored through Nicolas Jackson;s quick thinking to latch onto a loose ball and score after Ederson spilled a fierce Conor Galaagher shot inside the 6 yard box.6 Minutes from the end of normal time, Man City took the Lead for a fourth time in the game thanks to a deflected effort from Rodri and it seemed to be the winning goal but in the final seconds of time added on, Man City concede a penalty after a quick transition by Chelsea and it was dispatched by Cole Palmer to ensure that both temas got a share of the spoils in this classic tie.

2.Atletico Madrid 4- Real Madrid 2

arguably the best of the 4 Madrid derbies played between the City rivals, Atletico Madrid manage to come out on top in this thrilling Cup Tie. Despite Real Madrid dominating much of the first half, it was Atletico Madrid who scored first through Samuel Lino but Real equalized after a rare mistake by Jan Oblak. In the second half Atletico Madrid took an early lead after Alvaro Morata scored due to a defensive mishap in the Real Madrid backline. Real Madrid would once again equalize late in the second in a sequence of play that was finished by Joselu after a superb cross by Jude Bellingham.As a result of this, the match went to extra time where Atletico Madrid took lead through Antoine Griezmann in the first half of extra time.Real Madrid coudn;t equalize and in the final monets of the match Riquelme fkilled off Real Madrid by scoring the fourth goal of the match.



3.Manchster City 3- Tottenham Hotspurs 3

one of the contenders for game of the season, Man City and Spurs served up a classic match at the Etihad Stadium.Son Heung Min got his now customary goal against Manchester, scoring his eighth goal against the Manchester Club, to open the scoring.But after the goal, Man City pretty much dominated the rest of the first half and scored twice through Phil Foden and a Son Heung Min own goal and should have arguably scored more in the first half.It was more back and forth in the second half after some tactical tweaks by Ange postecoglu and Spurs equalised through Lo Celso goal.City would score once again to take the lead after a goal from jack Grealish but Tottenham would once again equalize with the final goal of the game in the final minute of the match thanks to a Dejan Kulusevski Header. There was even more controversy after the referee blew the final whistle to call for a perceived foul on Erling Haaland which denied Jack Grealish a one on one vs the Spurs Goalkeeper Vicario so the match ended as a draw.
