BAYERN MUNICH VS REAL MADRID REVIEW

This was another great spectacle between these two iconic sides in this classic rivalry which always delivers.After this match, Real Madrid are now currently unbeaten in 8 games Bauern Munich(6W,2D).

Bayern came into this match in inconsistent form after they had recently conceded the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen and were 14 points behind them in the League.As a matter of fact, Bayern Munich have not been at their usual standard this season, dropping subpar performances in matches which led to their current manager Thomas Tuchel to announce his departure before the Season even ends but in the Champions League they have fared better, losing only once in both group stage and knockout games and since they are out of the other competitions, this makes the Champions League their only chance of gaining silverware at the end of the Season.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid came into this match in high spirits amidst a terrific run of form, having already won the La Liga and the Spanish Supercup and remarkably, they have only lost twice in over 45 matches this season and haven't lost at all since January to Atletico Madrid in the Copa Del Rey(as a matter of fact, Atletico Madrid are the only team to beat Real Madrid over the entire course of the season) and like Bayern Munich, they also came into this match with a good record in this competition.

Bayern started the match quickly, with Real Madrid Andriy Lunin saving a one on one against Leroy Sane, albeit from a tight angle.Bayern would continue to take the game to Real Madrid, with Harry Kane and Leroy Sane firing shots over then from out of nowhere Real Madrid took the lead totally against the run of play.A quick passing exchange between Toni Kroos and Lucas Vazquez opened space for him thread an eye of the needle pass right through the Bayern Munich midfield for Vini Jnr to latch unto and score.Bayern continued probing for a chance to score an equalizer but Real Madrid comfortably held on to their lead until halftime.


Real Madrid started the second half well and Toni forced Manuel Neuer into a terrific save.Just when it looked like Real Madrid were in control of proceedings, Bayern Munich struck twice in 5 minutes.Thomas Tuchel Made a tactical switch at halftime, switching Leroy Sane from the Left flank to the Right Flank and he also switched Jamal Musiala from the Right Flank to the Left Flank so both of them could cut inside on their stronger foot and it paid dividends.Leroy Sane quickly cut inside the Madrid penalty box after receiving a Crossfield pass and  smashed a shot so ferocious that there is nothing Andriy Lunin could do about it.Bayen would go on to take the lead after after Vazquez fouled Jamal Musiala on the penalty area and Harry Kane calmly slotted the penalty past Lunin to give Bayern the Lead.




They would go close again through a deflected effort from Kane and an attempt from Eric Dier.Carlo Ancelotti, after seeing his team losing control of the game, he sent on Luka Modirc for Jude Bellingham, who had a quiet night and he quickly carved a chance for Vinicius Junior but his attempt was saved by Neuer.Shortly after, Bayern Munich would also concede a penalty when Kim Min Jae fouled Rodrygo inside the Bayern penalty area.Vinicus calmly took the penalty and scored past Neuer to draw Real Madird level several minutes from added time. Neither team was able to carve out any further opportunities and the match finished level.



Bayern Munich will rue the chances they missed, especially in the opening 25 minutes and after going 2-1 up as they had ample chances to score in front of goal and the job is not made any easier by the fact that they are going to play the Second Leg away meanwhile, Real Madrid did what they do best, give them an ich and they will take a mile.They attacked at the right moments and were very clinical when the chances presented themselves.
