HOW VINI JNR BECAME THE BEST

 


A question that has been asked a lot this year in the football world is "Is Vini Jnr currently the best player in the game?".There are currently players out there that are very much on par with the Brazilian winger in terms of talent but performance wise, especially this season, it seems that he's ahead of everyone


.The level he has managed to reach is a far cry from his early days as a winger.When Vini Jnr first started playing at Real Madrid, he was a vastly different player from the one we see now.He had great dribbling and explosive pace which was especially useful in attacking transition but unfortunately for Real Madrid, his decision making in the final third was very horrendous.His inability to finish chances was so prevalent that there was a point in time Karim Benzema told Ferland Mendy, the Left Back who played alongside Vini Jnr on the Left Flank, not pass to him when he had the ball.Although it sounds harsh, Benzema had a point because during that time span, he managed less than 20 goals in 3 Seasons despite playing over 90 matches.

Things surprisingly got better when Ancellotti returned as manager of Real Madrid.Not only was Vinicius Jnr tearing apart defences all over game in, game out, he was actually lethal in front of goal and he also formed a deadly partnership with Karim Benzema on the Left Flank of the pitch and for the first time in his career, he managed over 20 goals, including a career best 17 La Liga goals as he finished as the second highest goalscorer behind Real Madrid, only behind Karim Benzema with 44 goals in a very successfull season on an individual and club level as Real Madrid won the Champions League,Supercup and La Liga in a breakout Season.

Vini Jnr continued his rich vein in the next Season.DespitE a mixed season for Real Madrid, Vinicius Jnr had an excellent campaign on an individual level as his excellent performance continued from the previous although Real Madrid lost the La Liga title and were eliminated by Man City in the final of the Champions League, he still managed to help Real Madrid win their 20th Copa Del Rey Title.This Season also showed one of the ugly sides of football as Vinicius Jnr faced constant racial abuse from opposing fans, especially in the latter part of the season in away matches due to his perceived "arrogant attitude" and constant complaints.

Vini Jnr had a slow start to this Season, although he steadily regained his form as the Season progressed,Real Madrid would suffer a big blow when Vini Jnr went out injured in a game for a couple of months and had to sit on the sidelines but he wasn't missed much during his absence because Jude Bellingham was on fire during this same period.He would return with a bang as he netted a hattrick in his firsst game from injury, which was also his second career Hat-trick, against Fierce rivals FC Barcelona, in the process becoming only the second Real Madrid Player to score a treble in El Clasico in the 21st Century and the first Brazilian player to do so.


He would continue his excellent run of form in the following months with goals against the likes of Cadiz, Girona, FC Barcelona again in the League, RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich.His performances have been so top notch that he has been listed as a possible Candidate to win this year's Balon D'or although it remains to be seen but as of now, he is undeniably one of the front runners for the award.
