HOW KEVIN DE BRUYNE RISED AND BECAME ONE OF THE GAME'S MODERN BEST PLAYERS

Image
In today's game of football, you currently cannot make a top 5 list of the best midfielders in the world without including Kevin De Bruyne in that list. He is now widely regarded as one of the greatest players of this generation and possibly one of the greatest players of all time. Kevin De Bruyne has all the attributes you would want in a midfielder. Great first touch, great vision, great passing, good body strength, great precision and accuracy, excellent passing ability, a good left foot and an excellent right foot.In fact the man has it all that's why he is almost universally considered as currently the best player in the Premier League. He started out at the Belgian Outfit Genk, steadily progessing from their youth system until he made it into the first team. His impressive performances on the pitch made him a sought after player on the market and he soon signed for Chelsea and become their player but limited game time and average performances lead Kevin De Bruyne to leave t...

HAS PEP GUARDIOLA MADE THE PREMIER LEAGUE A BORING LEAGUE ?

Image
Out of the Past 6 seasons, Pep Guardiola has won the League 5 out of 6 times and is currently in pole position to win a 6th title in 7 seasons. Some fans and critics have accused Pep Guardiola of monopolizing the Premier League and making it 'boring' but is that really the case ? well, let's find out. Pep Guardiola has been a manager for 16 seasons. Out of those 16 seasons, he has won the League 13 times. In 4 years at Barca, he won 3 league titles, he won the League title in all his seasons as a Bayern Munich Manager and has won 5 out of 7 League titles since moving to Man City in 2016.In his entire managerial career he has only failed to win a league title in 3 seasons, two of which have happened as a Man City manager and besides, not all his Premier League Title wins have been easy and simple. Twice in the Premier League, they were pushed all the way until the last match of the season by Liverpool in order to win, and both times they barely managed to win the title, be...

THE PROBLEM WITH JOAO CANCELO

Image
Joao Cancelo is an amazing footballer and on his day can make magic happen at any moment but he has a few problems that will most likely stop him from being considered as one of the best full backs of all time by both fans and critics alike. First of all his defending leaves a lot to be desired.Attacking wise, Joao Cancelo is your man for the job and can create something out of nothing but his defending is god awful at times. His defending often reminds me of my neighbors, directionless and useless. If he could just sort out his weakness in defending, he'd be a complete fullback. After all, a full back's first and main priority above all else is to defend and defend well before even considering how good a full back is in attack. After all the legend Sir Alex Ferguson said it himself"attack wins you games but defence wins you titles" so it doesn't matter how good you are going forward if you are poor defensively as a fullback, it only worsens the team. His temparmen...

THE PROBLEM WITH THIS COUNTRY

Image
This is a Sports Blog but for this article i will be focusing on something other than Sports but which is just as  important. You see there is a reason why despite barely having any Natural Resource, the whites are ahead in all departments.Whether it is technology, infrastructure, education, financial capability, recognizing talent and utilising it or creating a new invention..The only reason why they even deal with Africa is because of the Natiural Resources otherwise they'd never step a foot here. Take a hard look at the situation. It isn't all the government's fault as a matter of fact i would attribute about only 20% of the blame to them.It has more to do with this doomed society. A fucking society where as an unemployed person you have to pay to get a job, a society where people who can barely take care of themselves decide to have multiple children knowing fully well it will cause much more harm than good, a fucking society where a person's failure brings joy people...

A SIMPLE ANALYSIS OF SEVERAL GOALS TO WIN THE PUSKAS AWARD

Image
In case you didn't know, the Puskas Award, named in honor of Football icon Ferenc Puskas, is an award given to the player who scores the best goal during a specific year.In this article, we will be taking a look at a few goals that should have won the Puska Award. 1.Mohammed Salah's goal vs Everton (2018) - .How Mohammed Salah's goal against Everton won the Puskas Award i will never know. Any person that has seen Ronaldo's bicycle and Mo Salah's Puskas award winning goal would agree that Ronaldo's goal was better and his goal should have been the winner of the 2018 Puskas Award. I will give Salah's goal a 5/10 2.Olivier Giroud's goal vs Crystal palace (2017) - in my opinion, this is one of the top 5 goals in Premier League History. He scored a scorpion kick goal, a scorpion kick! how often do you see a Scorpion Kick goal in a match, let alone the toughest league in the world. What makes the goal so good is that it wasn't fluke and he got a perfect c...

HOW CARLO ANCELLOTTI HAS GUIDED REAL MADRID TO A NEAR PERFECT SEASON

Image
Real Madrid are currently in their best run of form since the 2016 2017 season. They are currently leading the pack and are 11 points clear in La liga, are in the Semis of the Champions League and have already won the Supercopa De Espana (Spanish Supercup). How has Ancellotti managed this, especially with injuries to crucial players in the main team. Let's delve into it. Playing  to the strengths of the players- with the absence of  important players in the team, there were skeptics who thought that Real Madrid would have a bad season and besides that, there was pressure on Carlo Ancelotti to deliver following the previous season which produced mixed results for the club.Without a striker, without their main goalkeeper and without their First Choice Centre backs for much of the Season, Ancelotti has been able to effectively utilize less favoured players(Nacho, Lucas Vazquez) along with new players (Jude Bellingham) and players returning from loan (Brahim Diaz) by playin...

IS NICHOLAS JACKSON A PROBLEM AT CHELSEA? A DETAILED ANALYSIS

Image
Nicholas Jackson is a polarizing figure not only among the Chelsea Supporters but also among football fans in general. On the one hand he is pacy, can stretch opposition defences with his runs and is adept at getting himself into good positions. On the hand he has difficulty finishing chances and is often indecisive around the opposition penalty area.He has been massively criticized for his wastefulness in front of goal, having one of the lowest conversion rate among Europe's top strikers and other the hand, he has managed to rack up 13 goals in his debut season and he has proven to be a big threat to opposition defences so is Nicholas Jackson really a problem or does the problem lie much deeper underneath ? IIt has more to do with the team than with Nicholas Jackson.Nicholas Jackson has scored more goals than even Didier Drogba managed in his debut season and the season hasn't even ended yet which means that he could add more goals to his tally but unlike him, Drogba didn'...

REAL MADRID ELIMINATES MANCHESTER CITY REVIEW AND ANALYSIS

Image
Against all odds, Real Madrid have miraculously overcome Manchester City at the Etihad, a place where Man City are considered to be unbeatable and as a result, a potential back-to-back treble for Man City is gone and Real Madrid preserve their record of not being eliminated from back-to-back Champions League campaigns by the same team. The match started with both teams trying to feel each other out but after a tense start, Real Madrid opened the scoring thanks to a goal by Rodrigo. After the goal though, Man City woke up and began to completely dominate the game, constantly banging at the door of Real Madrid for the rest of the half but Real Madrid stood firm and bar a Haaland header off the bar, Man City didn't create much danger inside the Real Madrid penalty Area. City stepped up the pressure in the second, limiting Real Madrid to just one shot in the entire second half, constantly probing for spaces to exploit and snuffing out any potential Real Madrid attacks before they even ...

BARCELONA VS PSG REVIEW AND ANALYSIS

Image
What. A Game! we've been treated to 2 quarterfinal classics in one night, the other being Dortmund vs Atletico. From start to finish this was a breathtaking game with a few controversies. Just like the first leg, PSG started this game on the front foot and penned Barcelona in their own half. Despite hardly getting a sniff of the ball in the opening phase, just like the first leg, Barca scored first, and the goal scorer was raphinha. It came completely against the run play of play in a sequence where Lamine Yamal skinned Nuno Mendes for pace and squared the ball across for a tap in, giving Barca a two-goal lead on aggregate. All seemed to be well for Barcelona until one moment of carelessness cost them. PSG caught the Barca defense out of position in a quick break which left Bradley Barcola one on one against Ter Stegen with Araujo right behind Barcola as the last man.Instead of fouling Barcola, Araujo should have just let him take the shot cause there was a possibility he might hav...

MANCHESTER CITY VS REAL MADRID PREVIEW

Image
Tomorrow's game between Man City and Real Madrid is going to be an interesting battle. Even though the scores are currently tied at 3 goals apiece, Man City hold the edge since the 2nd Leg will be played at home at the Etihad Stadium, a place they haven't lost since December 2022 and are currently on a run of over 45 games unbeaten there. Real Madrid is still yet to win an away game against Manchester City and given City's form at home, Man City look the more likely winners of this tie. Real Madrid can only win if Carlo Ancelotti is able to come with a tactical masterclass to neutralize Man City from the 1st minute to the last minute and get themselves a goal which is nearly an impossible task against a mastermind like Pep Guardiola, but Arsenal have shown in their match against Man City that they can be stopped at home. On top of that, each Real Madrid player has to be on their "A" game from defense to attack if they are to get anything from this game because M...

PREDICTIONS FOR TODAY'S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MATCHES

Image
1.Bayern Munich to win and over 2.5 goals in Bayern Munich vs Arsenal even though both teams are heading into this game with low morale, I still back Bayern Munich to defeat Arsenal in the second leg of their quarter final match.Bayern have much more experience in playing in the Champions League compared to Arsenal, whose inexperience clearly showed in their draw at the Emirates and were somewhat lucky not to lose. 2.Both teams to score in a win or draw for Dortmund  i back the Dortmund team to defeat Atletico Madrid in the second leg but both teams to score at the Signal Iduna Stadium.Atletico have a very poor record against German Teams away from Home but i still fancy them to score in what i think will be a tight affair in which Atletico Madrid will just manage to scrape through to the next round.

BAYER LEVERKUSEN WIN THE BUNDESLIGA

Image
For the first time in 11 years, a team other than Bayern Munich will be crowned as the Champions of Germany. The "Bayern Liga" times is finally over.Over the years there were times were a team came very close to winning the Bundesliga but ultimately came up short, most notably Dortmund who lost the title to Bayern Munich on the final day of last season in heartbreaking fashion but Bayer Leverkusen have finally managed to break Bayern Munich's stranglehold on the Bundesliga. On the back of an unbeaten run this season, Bayer Leverkusen have been very consistent throughout from the onset of the season and steadily built a gap between  between them and 2nd place Bayern Munich as the Season went on on their road to winning the title and at this rate they might become the first ever side to go unbeaten in the Bundesliga.Xabi Alonso has done a great since becoming Leverkusen's manager, dragging them from the relegation zone in his debut season and leading them to their first ...

TEAMS WITH THE CURRENT UNBEATEN STREAKS IN THE LEAGUE

Image
.  1. Bayer Leverkusen Xabi Alonso's side have had one of the most memorable underdog season's in history. They have defied the odds and are set to dethrone Bayern as the new winners of the Bundesliga if they win their game this weekend, made more that impressive by the fact that they are unbeaten in over 35 games this season and are still yet to lose in all competitions. They have the chance to become only the 2nd side since Arsenal in 2003 2004 in Europe's top 5 Leagues to go a season Unbeaten. 2.Manchester City- despite an inconsistent start to the Season, Manchester City have not lost any game since December 2023 and are currently unbeaten in over 24 matches in al competitions (19W, 5D).Even though they have still not reached their peak as a team during the season, they have been able to put a successful run of games which has helped them stay in Contention in all competitions except for the EFL Cup and are most likely to win the Premier League and the Champions League 3 ...

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH LIVERPOOL ? KEY FACOTRS TO TAKE NOTE OF

Image
About a month ago, the Reds were in 1st place of the Premier League, were in the Quarter Final of the FA Cup, Round Of 16 in the Europa League, and in 1st Place in the Premier League. Fast forward to a month later, they are now 2nd in the Premier League (Behind On goal difference), are in danger of being knocked out of the Europa League after suffering a heavy first leg defeat at the hands of Atalanta and have been knocked out of the Fa Cup by Manchester United. We will be taking a look at the factors which has lead to a decline in form for Liverpool. 1 .Wastefulness In Front of Goal- one of Liverpool's main troubles heading into the latter stages of the season has been their wastefulness in front of goal which has cost them in games against the likes of Man City and Man Utd, games in which a having a poacher like Diogo Jota could have been the key to winning but is unfortunately injured. Mo salah has been unusually wasteful, Darwin Nunez isn't clinical enough and Luis Diaz nee...

BEST MATCHES OF THE SEASON SO FAR

Image
1.Chelsea 4- Manchester City 4- arguably the game of the season, Chelsea game against Man City back in the early stages of the Season is a classic for all the right reasons. Defensive lapses, fast paced action, and of course, plenty of goals. Man City drew first blood thanks to a debatable Erling Haaland penalty but they were pegged back by Chelsea who quickly scored two goals through Thiago Silva and Raheem Sterling but Man City equalized on the stroke of half time from an Akanji header. Man City soon scored after the restart from Erling Haaland and retook the lead but Chelsea came fighting back and after Cole Palmer missed a solo chance, they soon scored through Nicolas Jackson;s quick thinking to latch onto a loose ball and score after Ederson spilled a fierce Conor Galaagher shot inside the 6 yard box.6 Minutes from the end of normal time, Man City took the Lead for a fourth time in the game thanks to a deflected effort from Rodri and it seemed to be the winning goal but in t...
